Brandon completed his Master of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Calgary in 2021. His thesis investigated the importance of blood volume on female cardiac, hemodynamic, and pulmonary responses to endurance exercise. Brandon also completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Mount Royal University in 2019. During his undergraduate career, he participated in a high-altitude research expedition at the Barcroft Research Center on White Mountain in the Sierra Nevada’s in California investigating various physiological responses to hypoxia.
During his academic years, he has gained several years of research experience. Brandon is excited to further his experience in pediatrics and surgical care and be part of such a talented team.
As a research assistant with EQuIS, Brandon is supporting the neonatal Enhancing Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) project. Currently, he is working on the implementation of an evidence-driven guideline for neonatal abdominal surgery at Alberta Children’s Hospital alongside staff in the neonatal intensive care unit. Outside of work, he is passionate about innovation within healthcare and health and fitness. He is currently working with a team to better advocate and innovate within child prosthetics and plans to one day become a physician to better serve the community.
